One-Day Workshop on Research Methodology and Data Analysis

A one-day workshop on "Research Methodology and Data Analysis" was jointly organized by Government First Grade College and PG Centre, Dharwad, and the Institute for Inclusive Growth and Development (IIGD) under the IQAC initiative for the students of the Department of Economics and other Social Sciences and Humanities disciplines.

The workshop aimed to enhance students’ understanding of research methodology, project report writing, and data analysis techniques. The programme was presided over by Prof. Nalini V. Bengeri, Principal of the college, who emphasized the importance of research-oriented learning and analytical skills among students.

Mr. Malatesh Aralikatti and Mr. Shanmukh Hiremath served as the Resource Persons for the workshop. During the sessions, the resource persons explained the fundamentals of research methodology, procedures for conducting research, methods of data collection, and techniques of data analysis. They also guided students on internship and project report writing and highlighted the practical application of research in social sciences.

Dr. G. K. Badiger, IQAC Coordinator, and Smt. Saraswati Patil, Head of the Department of Economics, were present during the programme along with faculty members and students. The participants actively interacted with the resource persons and gained valuable knowledge regarding research practices and analytical methods. The workshop was conducted successfully and proved highly beneficial in developing students’ research aptitude, academic writing skills, and understanding of data analysis techniques.
