Special Lecture at Government First Grade College (GFGC) Annigeri

Under the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), the Department of Economics organized a special lecture programme in the college on 27/11/2024. On this occasion, Dr. Balakrishna Bendre and Mr. Shanmukh Hiremath, members of the Institute for Inclusive Growth and Development (IIGD), Dharwad, attended the programme as the resource persons and delivered a special lecture on the topic "Importance and Opportunities of Economics Education and Research in Economics."

During the lecture, they explained the significance of studying Economics, the future opportunities available in the field, and the scope of research in Economics. Their insightful lecture helped students enhance their knowledge and understanding regarding Economics education, research, and career opportunities in the subject. The programme was presided over by the Principal of the college, Dr. B. H. Bullannavar. The programme was compered by student Manjula Yaragambalimath. The prayer song was presented by Ayesha and team from the First Year B.A. class. The introductory remarks about the programme were delivered by Mrs. Deepa Mantur, Head of the Department. The guest introduction was presented by Mr. S. D. Dhanshetti, Lecturer of the Department. Teaching and non-teaching staff members of the college were also present during the programme. The vote of thanks was delivered by the Head of the Department. The programme was conducted successfully and proved beneficial in enhancing students’ knowledge about Economics education and research, while also creating awareness regarding future opportunities in the field.
